Partners Program

Lyn Laurie, the president’s wife, would once again like to extend a very warm invitation to all Annual Conference partners and friends to attend the Partners Program for 2009! After the positive feedback received from all who attended in 2008, the 2009 program has been extended to 3 days and will once again include the latest hit musical and a unique food experience. Activities have a maximum number of places, so to confirm your attendance, please complete the Special Event Booking Form or click here to book and pay online. The NSW Farmers’ Association is pleased to subsidise the majority of the cost for these events, with just a small fee payable for attendance on each day.

Day One - Tuesday 28th July
“All Aboard!!”
Heritage Train Tour and Lunch at The Armory Wharf Café

One of Sydney's secrets lies right on the banks of the Parramatta River and within our conference vicinity!

The Heritage Train is an explosive trip around the Armory buildings of Newington Armory where you will experience how armaments were transported by the heritage listed electro-mobile locomotive, visit the armaments display and learn how important this area was to Sydney.

Newington Armory is a special place - formerly the Royal Australian Naval Armament Depot (RANAD), it features over 100 heritage buildings of various ages and types, set amidst a 52 hectare riverside landscape of undulating hills and woodlands. This heritage listed site has been in use as an armaments depot since 1897. Discover how this are has been adapted for education, art and culture while preserving the significance of place.

You will begin your adventure with a relaxing lunch at the Armory wharf café, beautifully located on the Parramatta River.  Modern materials adorn the cafe, which was built by Lahz Nimmo Architects to replace the old weatherboard cottage that burned down nearly 18 months ago. The Armory Wharf Cafe is where armaments and munitions were unloaded before being stored at the Newington Armory in the late 19th century. The cranes are still here and so are the railway tracks and the handsome entry gate, dated 1897 on its arch.

Cost: $15.00 pp (valued at $60.00pp)
